NIHR Participates in a Dialogue Session entitled “The Role of National Institutions in Voluntary National Review of Plan 2030 on the Promotion of Human Rights”
The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) participated in a dialogue session entitled “The Role of National institutions in Voluntary National Review of Plan 2030 on the Promotion of Human Rights”, which was organized virtually by the Danish Institute for Human Rights in cooperation with the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI) in light of the Capacity Development Project of National Human Rights Institutions and the European Union.
At the beginning of the session, Mrs. Catharina Rose, GANHRI representative to Geneva, welcomed the participants and explained the importance of the national human rights institutions manual on how to participate in the Voluntary National Review (VNR) of Plan 2030, which was presented during the dialogue session. The Danish Institute for Human Rights Consultant also gave a presentation on the national human rights institutions manual on how to participate in VNR.
The dialogue session also dealt with the great conversion between Sustainable Development Plan 2030 and human rights frameworks, for which the VNR makes it possible to promote human rights and advance their implementation in various countries of the world, as the VNR is considered the cornerstone in the framework of the follow-up to Plan 2030, since the national human rights institutions play an essential role in all VNR steps, each in its own terms of reference.
At the end of the dialogue session, national human rights institutions shared their VNR experiences in a number of countries.
